My Name is Alan Staib, in early February 2019 I purchased a COMPLETE set of suspension and steering components to be installed into a 1993 Toyota Hilux Dual cab UTE, a car I was rebuilding from the ground up to compete in the 2019 Great Endeavour Rally in late July early August 2019.
The rally commenced on Saturday 27th July 2019 in Bundaberg and finished in Townsville on Saturday 3rd August via Julia Creek & Kurumba.
Daniel, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for the personal attention and the excellent service and knowledge you provide in a time of need when after installation and testing we discovered the suspension needed tweaking, (this was due to MY misdiagnoses of the intended carried weight over the back axle).
This is where Roy Wesney and your workshop manager provided and installed the appropriate suspension components that saw this vehicle undertake the rally covering 6000klm over 7 days with not a single problem, a well handling and truly comfortable ride with most of this journey over 3,500klm of unmaintained 2-wheel track, creek crossings etc on privet property in ctr and far north Qld, (No joke, this was as rough as you can find).
A lot of our fellow competitors scoffed at our decision to run 20in alloy wheels with Nitto low profile tyres, (They won’t last was the comments, your MAD) HA HA we proved them wrong. GOOD Suspension helped a LOT with very minimal tyre wear suffered (Check the Nitto Face Book Page).
ONE VERY VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER
PS: I can HIGHLY recommend the Military Wrap spring system your company uses, as used by ALL Military Services Vehicles

I called in yesterday and asked advice about the sagging tray on my Landcruiser ute. Brian climbed under and over explaining the problem and gave me a solution on the spot. As like all self-employed and working men is very, very hard to drop off and pick up the vehicle during normal working hours due to peak hour traffic. It is fantastic that the vehicle can be dropped off after 6 am. Bonus!!
I am very happy with the price and the standard of the work and as I have a small fleet of 4 Landcruisers and several Hilux’s and I will definitely be a returning customer.

I recently did a suspension upgrade plus airbags installed and all I can say is, “OUTSTANDING”! Even with a full tank of fuel, 135L, it is absolutely GREAT. It’s a bit bouncy on bends with no load, which can be expected when travelling at 95-100km/h on a right hand sweeping bend.?
Thanks to Sean and the crew I have no trouble passing the word how great this suspension is.

I bought the truck new in 2012 – NPS300 cab chassis. I had super single tyres fitted and for the next 18 months, I had a camper built for the rear end to be permanently mounted onto the truck. A trip to Cape York in September 2014 highlighted the shortcomings in the Isuzu O.E suspension. Luckily I fitted suspension seats prior to leaving. Half an hour of corrugation saw the shocks fade to zero dampening and constantly hitting the bump stops. Driver input is tiring just to stay on the track, even on bitumen counter steering against bump steer in tiring.
Suspension Supplies Australia have now fitted new spring packs, Sachs shocks, and all other componentry. Driver input has now reduced dramatically to a level where I can look at the views and not just the road. One day turn around was simple… Driven in – Drive out!
The new set up has been great so far. Very soon we’re off to the Alice Springs via Plenty Highway, to Darwin via the Binns Track to Kakado then back to home in Brisbane. Should be a much more pleasant trip with a good ride. I’ll send you some photos. Thanks guys

I had spent many months researching and discussing my options with various suppliers to improve the poor front suspension of my 4×4 Mitsubishi Canter truck motorhome (2010 model FG84D) – some of which were more than happy to quote me many thousands of dollars to experiment and/or change the leaf spring arrangement. Most users of this truck speak of the same old problems sagged leaves with almost no travel and inadequate shock absorbers. I really wasn’t sure which way to turn and tossed up between just replacing the leaf springs, or elaborate changes incorporating air bags or coil-over-shock supplementary lift setups.
Eventually, I found SSA suspension on the net and called to have a good old technical chat about my needs and options. To my pleasant surprise, Greg the Operations Manager did not try to just sell me an expensive upgrade conversion – instead, he listened to and understood my requirements and technical views. He suggested a new kit comprising of stronger leaves that will provide significantly greater travel, superior shocks, and new greaseable bushes – which SSA has developed specifically for my truck and 4×4 use. He advised he’ll send a quote and I thought to myself, here we go, yet another expensive sales quote. However, nothing could be further from the truth. SSA’s price was considerably cheaper than I had expected and… even included free delivery (bonus!)”.

I would like to just say how pleased I am with the results you and your team at SSA have done with my 1945 Dodge power wagon (Groot). It was more than just a job well done, Brian even followed up with a phone call to check and to re-explain about your back up service and warranties.
It was not a straight-up spring change, as I had specific requirements the truck was being used for (Endeavour rally / Fink races) and being for its age and modifications it had to be custom built. It all seemed effortless in my belief to complete. It is with this belief I will be spreading your name to anyone who needs work to any vehicle requiring springs and suspension repairs and modifications.
I will send pics to you when we get out there, and I hope that your staff like Brian are recognized for their talents and loyalty to their work and workplace. Again thank you for a job well done.

I just wanted to say thanks for the awesome service I received from Sean and the team at SSA this week. Sean F gave me a quote a couple of weeks ago and as I had other things to do I let it slip. I called up just before 5 pm on Wednesday to see if there was any chance of getting the airbags fitted this week as we’re going away on Sunday. I was lucky enough to speak to another Sean and he said as it was late, he’d call the service manager (who’d left work) and see if he could squeeze me in. Five minutes later he calls me back and says yes, they can fit me in on Friday. Got the airbags fitted today and couldn’t be happier with the price and professional service. Well done and good luck to this family-owned company.

My wife and I purchased a slide on to go on our new ute. However, it was wallowy and felt unsafe on the standard suspension. SSA did a suspension upgrade for us, and the difference was amazing. The ute felt much more assured on the road and we have been much more confident on our long road trips exploring Australia.
SSA has the attitude (hard to find in these times), that the customer is always right. So if anyone is looking for a suspension upgrade to handle a heavy load, you can’t go past SSA. You will get a quality solution, good price and the best after sales service and warranty.

I am writing to say thank you to all of the wonderful people from SSA who I have been chatting with over the past few weeks and have worked on my old girl. Mostly, I would like to compliment and thank your Workshop Manager Brian Robinson. In my dealings with Brian, he demonstrated a real passion for his job and the old cars (not just 4×4’s). I absolutely love my old cars and it was refreshing to be dealing with a like-minded person. Brian gave me confidence that I was talking with an expert who knows his stuff and would take pride in what he does, hence he won the job.
The job itself was substantial as the front and rear suspension was in appalling condition with all of the rubbers, ball joints etc looking like the original items. The rear suspension completely sagged with broken leaf springs which Brian remanufactured for me. Brian also lowered her for me and evened out her stance, so she is now, not only driving considerable better but also looking much better.
All of this was done within record time and Brian continually kept me informed of her progress throughout. Which was very much appreciated. I just this morning picked up my 1957 Chevy Wagon and I swear to you that if a car could possibly smile, she most definitely would have been. I most certainly was as I drove her home.
I can now go over bumps without the whole car crashing into them and with the renewal of all of my front end parts my steering is definitely much lighter. I look forward to being able to load her up with all of my friends on my next trip, without having to worry about bottoming out each time there is a little bump or dip in the road. Overall guys, I think you have done a cracker of a job. Thanks so much.

Hi guys, just a quick note to express my appreciation for the advice and service I recently received in regards to my 2012 Mazda BT50 tray back.
I found the whole experience very professional and I’m happy to say that the ute is now tougher than ever, considering it is often carrying its full towing capacity. I am also appreciative that the job came in under budget! Thanks again.

I own a Toyota diesel 150, which is the love of my life, (my wife thinks she is but that’s another story) and we have just purchased a Billabong 18.6 caravan. When we picked up our new van we immediately noticed the back of our Toyota sag when the van was connected. The drive home was less than comfortable…
The front of the caravan was bouncing along and even more noticeable on the concrete surface on the Gold Coast highway. I called SSA and asked for advice and Greg and his boys provided an immediate solution. They recommended a PolyAir Suspension Airbag, and … Am I pleased they did.
It was installed the next day without fuss and the improvement was immediate. With no load and 10lb of air in the Polybag, our vehicle drove and handled beautifully as it did before. With the caravan attached and airbags inflated to 20lb, the bounce and sag were immediately gone.
The next day I again towed the caravan and I forgot to inflate the airbags and the bounce and rough ride were back ….. I am sold and extremely happy with our new PolyAir Bag suspension – I would definitely recommend this as a solution to anyone in a similar situation to ours as you have driver comfort with the flexibility to adjust the air pressure when needed. Thanks, Greg and his team of experts. Well done!”

Our company’s fleet does a lot of miles carrying a lot of machinery and supplies to job sites so the truck suspension needs to be able to carry big loads but retain some ride comfort. Brisbane Springs had the answers and their work was first class. Our team was so pleased with the job we sent our other work vehicles to be improved as well.

Thanks for your support for our efforts to raise funds for the RFDS. By discounting the cost of the suspension modifications to our Trek car you have helped keep our sometimes significant overheads to a minimum.
The job done by Brian and the boys was first class and our vehicle now has excellent front suspension for the torture we put it through. Our next Trek is in June 2013 when we will give the car a full test! I have placed a link to the SSA website on our CAR13 website under “Proud Supporters. Thanks again for your help.”

We recently purchased a spring kit for our GD Hino motorhome and I just wanted to thank you for your assistance and advice. The truck now rides like a limo and one wife (with no air-ride seat ) is now a very happy camper. The difference it made was unbelievable! Even the guys at Butlers who fitted it was more than impressed at the service, and the cost. So again a big thanks and well done.
